Season two of ‘House of the Dragon’ returns in Summer 2024 featuring swords made of patterned Damascus steel – the prequel to ‘Game of Thrones’ promises the return will have dragons, more family drama, and more swords!
In late 2021 Damasteel® proudly welcomed the HBO team to Söderfors with master swordsmith Peter Johnsson to supply ‘House of the Dragon’ with the steel for their infamous Valyrian steel swords. The two swords, Dark Sister and Blackfyre are two of the ancestral swords of the Targaryen family made in Old Valyria.
In conjunction with the release of the HBO series, Damasteel® launched the pattern used in the Valyrian steel swords, SvavnerTM entered the Damasteel® pattern library in the summer of 2022. Joining NidhoggTM and FafnirTM, SvavnerTM was the third member of the Dragon Family of Patterns, inspired by Ancient Norse mythology these patterns were all named for the worms that gnawed at the roots of the great tree Yggdrasil.
To celebrate this incredible collaboration with HBO and launch of season two of ‘House of the Dragon’, Damasteel® has released a fourth pattern to the Dragon Family of Patterns, this time with even more dragon details. GrabakTM is the Swedish company’s most chaotic pattern to date – available as of 02.05.24, this chaotic swirling pattern in available in DS93XTM Damasteel’s premium patterned Damascus steel for edged tools.
