The rarest steel we’ve ever made

Introducing a steel that breaks tradition — with only 30 billets made, always stainless, never before this rare. Crafted with Salem Straub & Casey Vilensky.

Feathers & Fire

We’re proud to unveil something truly unique — a steel that breaks from tradition in the most intentional way.

For years, we’ve held a quiet wish: to create a feather-like pattern in steel, alive with motion and meaning. That dream found its moment in a rare collaboration with our talented friends Casey Vilensky and Salem Straub.

Together, we created a piece inspired by Räsvelg, the mythic eagle perched atop Yggdrasil, whose wings stir the winds of the world. This pattern honours that legend — bold, intricate, and ethereal.

And for the first time ever, we broke one of our core rules: we welded. Not out of necessity, but out of respect for the story this steel demanded to tell. Only 30 billets have been made available, to honour our 30th anniversary. We’ve had 30 years of innovation, of crafting beauty in steel and we couldn’t think of a better way than this to celebrate those 30 years.

We’re so proud to be able to bring this pattern to you, available beginning Friday, June 6th at 11 am EST. Customers can order exclusively by emailing sales, or a select number of billets will be available in-person at Blade Show in Atlanta. Customers are limited to one billet each.

The beginnings of magic, a chef blank emerges from the first bar of Räsvelg.

The Mythology of Räsvelg

In the twilight of many winters, a wish lay buried deep in the forge-smoke dreams of old — the yearning to shape the wind’s very cloak, to craft a pattern like unto the feathers of the storm-winged beasts. This was a dream forged in silence, patient as the roots of Yggdrasil.

Now, in the turning of fates, we speak of a rare and fateful joining — a union wrought not of chance but of shared fire and vision. With our steadfast allies, Casey and Salem, masters in their own right, we set hands to the anvil together. This is no common bond, but a meeting of kinship and craft.

Long have we held to the old ways, binding with purpose, never by flame alone — never welding, we would say, as the gods do not sew stars. Yet for this, we make a sacred exception. Not from need, but from honor. For some stories are too grand to be told in halves.

And so, in the pattern of the feathers, we call forth the spirit of Räsvelg, the Corpse-Swallower, who sits at the edge of the Nine Realms, atop the world-tree. His wings stir the winds of Midgard and whisper ancient secrets through the canopy.

This piece is his echo — a tribute to his might, his watching gaze, and the silent power of things too vast to bind.

Feathers forged, winds summoned, and the weld of friendship made whole — this is our saga.

Only available via email or exclusively at BLADE SHOW ATLANTA 2025.
