What can I say about this one? Despite it may look simple, its one of the most difficult knives I ever made. The margin of error on this built was very low mostly during the particular connections and the fact that the steel has the bad habit of twisting and bending especially on thin stock. Damasteel in saya, handle- and of course- blade is hardened, mirror finished and deep etched. Free grinded blade with unique combined grinds, heavily tapered towards the tip. Sterling silver logo is inserted permanently in the blade and gives an amazing 3d effect.
Handle is tapered to the center and Damasteel covers have hidden pins to keep them in place. Saya is without pin, inside is covered with felt in order not to scratch the blade and the knife fits perfectly (doesn’t fall even if you move it around) . Each side has 7 screws that hold the damasteel covers but also the two piece saya construction. The saya is designed to act also as presentation stand as it can stand in its belly.
Τhe goal was to create something that would withstand the test of time and remain classic. Steel and wood united to form simple lines, yet maintaining a sense of flow.
