Activities at the show
Visit the expo and experience something special in each booth! There will be cutting, forging, and sharpening demos, professional chefs will talk about food, cooking and share their best advise using kitchen knives!
Also -meet the glass artist that have been making the most beautiful knife handles! So stay tuned – the program will be updated the following week!
Forging Demo by NHB Knifeworks.
Nate Bonner, NHB Knifeworks will do a forging demo and go over some useful tips on hot working Damasteel vs more typical knife steel like carbon. Visit the event page for more information!
Steel & Meal (Dinner at Facci’s)
In the Italian booth they will combine the best of two worlds – steel and food! Visit Alfredo Faccipieries booth if you want to hear more about steel, knife making and about polishing and etching Damasteel.
In the meanwhile, they will prepare two iconic Italian dishes: “Spaghetti alla carbonara ” and “Risotto al radicchio” and discuss the original recipe of those meals.
KnifeTalk podcast
KnifeTalk is the World’s biggest knife podcast with over 50 000 listeners each week. Hosted by the three knife makers Craig Lockwood – Chop knives, Geoff Feder – Feder Knives and Mareko Maumasi – Maumasi Fire Arts. Each week they answer listeners questions, chat about recent work and share tips. Watch them interview the DCI knife makers, have a chat with them in their booth and ask them all your questions about knife making!
Raffle draw
Use the voting form at the knife display page to vote for Best in Show. You will automatically attend our raffle draw and get the chance to win a beautiful Damasteel chef knife from WMF. Please note that voting ends 1 hour before the event ends. The winner will be announced on stage at the award ceremony.
Award ceremony
The knife makers can win a prize for best contribution in six different categories. Best in show are voted for by the attendees, and everyone who is voting has the chance to win their own Damasteel Chef knife.
